This makes it possible to purchase a visually stunning, high-graded stone without it having to be flawless.

Carat—Perhaps the most recognizable of the C’s, the carat is the unit of weight measurement applied to diamonds. A carat is .2 grams, and is internationally recognized as the acceptable means of determining a diamond’s size and weight. As not all diamonds are a full carats in size, partial carats are referred to in terms of “points”, though most people use fractions rather than the point system.
