Popping the Question in the LA Diamond District

The LA Diamond District is so convenient, it is no wonder that it inspires many a lover to ask that all-important question. Not every engagement begins like they do in the romantic comedies with a dramatic proposal and perfect ring, however. Some men need more help to create the memory they want for their future wives. Others don’t plan the moment at all, just suddenly deciding that it is the time. This doesn’t mean that the couple is any less engaged, or that they are any less thrilled by the proposal. In some situations it can actually be beneficial to wait until after you pop the question to pick out the ring. Downtown Los Angeles jewelry stores are perfect for an impromptu shopping trip during which you can purchase a ring and gain a fiancée.

When You Don’t Know Her Size

Nothing is quite as frustrating to a newly-engaged woman as having to relinquish her engagement ring to a jeweler so that it can be sized. This can also indicate to her that you didn’t plan your proposal out enough to find out her size. If you don’t know what size ring she wears, it is often better to simply bring her along to the LA Diamond District so that she can get the right fit. Even if the ring must be sized before it can be worn, it is easier to wait for a ring than to give one up.

When You Aren’t Sure of Her Style

No matter how well you know your partner, or how much you love her, choosing the right engagement ring can be a touchy topic. If you choose a ring that is not her style you risk marring her memory of the proposal and the embarrassment of offering to exchange the ring. Before you dive headlong into Downtown Los Angeles jewelry stores with the plan of finding your future fiancée’s ring, ask yourself a few questions:

What type of precious metal does she like? Would she rather have white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, or maybe even platinum?

Is she a purely white diamond type of girl, or would she like something a little different?

When she envisions her engagement ring does she see a solitaire, a cluster, or a large stone accompanied by smaller accent stones?

How big a diamond would look good on her hand while also allowing you to stay within your budget?

While you may be able to get help with some of these questions from the knowledgeable professionals in the LA Diamond District, some things will just need to be decided by the woman who will wear the ring.

When It is Spur of the Moment

A proposal doesn’t always come after months of planning. Sometimes the mood sets itself, the light falls on her face, or she smiles just so and you know that you want to spend your life with her. If one of these moments hits you, you may find that you ask for her hand without having a ring to put on it. This is the perfect opportunity to whisk her off to the LA Diamond District and let her select the ring of her dreams. You may be surprised when she selects a classic gold setting with a blue emerald cut diamond rather than the platinum brilliant solitaire you had considered.

Understanding Diamond Cuts from a Los Angeles Jewelry Store

Diamonds are beautiful precious stones that make for perfect engagement rings.  There are many factors to consider, however, when choosing a diamond for a ring or necklace from a Los Angeles jewelry store.  The most well-known areas of diamond grading include the 4-C’s – clarity, cut, color, and carat.  Diamond cut is one of the most misunderstood parts of the diamond grading system.  Diamond cut does not refer only to the shape of the diamond but also to the way the stone is cut to allow light into it.  The better the stone is cut, the more light will be reflected.  When more light is reflected, the diamond will appear brighter and more brilliant.

Diamond Cut

Before you choose a diamond from a Los Angeles jewelry store, it is important to understand the cut.  The ideal cut is a term used to describe one of the best cuts available for diamonds.  The ideal stone uses light to provide the best possible reflection into and back out of the diamond.  The best diamond cuts are those that allow light coming in from the top of the diamond to pass through the stone and reflect back out of the top.  This type of cut offers the best look for the diamond and will make the stone appear larger than it actually is.

Brilliance

When a diamond is properly cut, it will exhibit several important properties including brilliance, dispersion, and scintillation.  When light hits the surface of the diamond, it will reflect off the top or table of the stone and enter the stone.  The reflective light is the brilliance of the diamond and can be seen with a burst of light when looking at the top of the stone.  Light that goes into the stone disperses into color flashes called scintillation.  Moving the diamond will cause colors to appear inside the diamond.  A Los Angeles jewelry store offers diamonds that are precision cut to provide high brilliance.  The size of the diamond is secondary to the brilliance provided through proper cut.

Parts of the Diamond

When shopping for a diamond ring at your Los Angeles jewelry store, it is helpful to understand the anatomy of a diamond.  The table is the top of the diamond surface and reflects light as well as allows light to enter into the stone.  The small pointed area at the bottom of the stone is called the culet.  The girdle of the diamond is the middle section where the crown or upper portion of the diamond meets the lower portion or pavilion.  The girdle is the widest portion of the diamond. The depth of the stone is the total height of the diamond from the table to the culet.   A well-proportioned stone provides the best brilliance and reflection making the stone appear very sparkly.  It is easier to view the true brilliance and shape of a diamond before it is placed into a setting.

Picking out the Best Diamond Engagement Ring from a Downtown Los Angeles Jewelry Store

Choosing a diamond engagement ring is a daunting experience for many people.  Such a serious decision is best made when you have all the necessary information.  It’s best to do some basic research on diamonds before you begin your search.  Cut, clarity, carat, and color are the most important considerations.  Shape is another decision that must be made.  If you’re surprising your bride with a ring it is helpful to know what her favorite ring styles are when shopping for a ring.  A consultant at your downtown Los Angeles jewelry store will assist you in viewing diamond engagement ring choices.

Diamond Ring Styles from a Downtown Los Angeles Jewelry Store

There are many different ring styles to choose from when shopping for a diamond engagement ring at your downtown Los Angeles jewelry store.  Diamonds can be cut in a wide variety of shapes.  The most common shape is probably round.  The round diamond cut offers a very traditional look yet it can be modernized with the setting.  Other cuts include princess, emerald, square, oval, radiant, marquise, cushion, pear and heart.  No matter the shape of the diamond, the cut should be well done creating brilliance and radiance in the diamond.  The cut of the diamond should enhance the sparkle of the stone, making it very beautiful.  Facets reflect light in various patterns and are important for adding more reflection to the stone.

Size Isn’t Necessarily the Top Priority

While a large diamond may seem like the best option, you should actually consider the overall quality of the diamond first.  A large diamond with flaws is less preferable to a smaller sized diamond with fewer imperfections.  A diamond with fewer carats may appear larger than other diamonds when it is cut properly.  The ideal cut provides the best reflection of light into and out of the stone, making it look brighter and larger than it actually is.  The setting will also provide some help in creating a sparkling diamond.  An open setting that allows light under and around the stone will help make the stone sparkle.  Avoid diamonds that are poorly cut because they may have a dark or dim appearance that will never change.  A downtown Los Angeles jewelry store associate will assist you in finding the top quality diamond rings to choose from.

Making a Good Choice

The best choice for a diamond ring is always the one that you are most happy with.  A downtown Los Angeles jewelry store offers a wide variety of options.  The best way to go about making the final decision is to narrow down your choices.  Decide on the shapes and settings that you prefer and then review your options.  Look at the diamond from every angle and in every light.  You can use the jeweler’s loop to look closely at the cut of the diamond to see any flaws.  Keep in mind that all diamonds have some minor flaws.  Be sure to ask any questions that you have so you are sure to get the diamond you will enjoy for many years to come.

Top Celebrity Diamond Trends from Jewelry Stores in Los Angeles

Paying close attention to celebrity engagements proves to be an interesting way to learn more about the latest diamond engagement ring trends.  Jewelry stores in Los Angeles will confirm that diamond rings are still far and away the most popular form of engagement ring presented to brides-to-be.  Most people notice that the size of the diamond is usually very large.  However, there are other, more subtle things to look for when viewing diamond rings of the stars.

The Shape of Celebrity Diamond Engagement Rings

It seems that celebrities are always on the cutting edge when it comes to fashion and jewelry.  Many celeb brides prefer to choose a diamond that has an interesting shape.  It seems some vintage diamond shapes are becoming more popular again.  The Asscher cut is a square shape with cut corners and step-cut sides.  This precision-cut diamond shape makes for a very beautiful and interesting engagement ring.  The cushion cut is also increasing in popularity.  The cushion cut is common in vintage settings and is enjoying a renewed interest, particularly among celebs.  It’s also common to set diamonds in different ways.  For example, the marquise cut diamond may be set sideways to give it a more modern twist. Many jewelry stores in Los Angeles offer a wide variety of traditional and modern diamond shapes.

Celebs Love Large Diamonds

It’s true, most celebrities enjoy showing off the large size of their diamond ring.  If your diamond isn’t as large as the ones you see on your favorite star, don’t worry.  Choosing the right setting can help make the diamond look larger than it is.  For example, choose a setting that builds up the stone, giving it the illusion that it is larger than it is.  Surrounding the diamond with smaller stones will add to the brilliance and give the appearance of a larger stone. Settings that allow the most light under and around the stone will add more sparkle to the ring, making it look brilliant.  Jewelry stores in Los Angeles will be happy to assist you in choosing a diamond to suit your wishes while also fitting into your budget.

Choosing Celebrity Inspired Diamond Rings

When you want to choose a diamond engagement ring that is inspired by celebrities, start by collecting some photos of rings that you like.  Take these ideas with you to jewelry stores in Los Angeles where you can begin to shop for rings that have the features that you like the best.  Try on several different styles to see which ones look the best on your own hand.  Just like trying on clothing, some ring styles will look better on you than others.  Narrow your choices down so that you have just a few styles to consider.  Keep in mind that the best engagement ring is the one that looks and feels great on you and is one that you will be proud to wear for many years to come. Jewelry stores in Los Angeles offer many options that are similar to the latest diamond rings that celebrities are wearing.

Diamond Stacking Rings – A Trendy Option from the Downtown LA Jewelry District

One of the hottest jewelry trends continues to be diamond stacking rings.  Downtown LA jewelry district stores offer many options when it comes to stackable rings.  Stacking rings are typically narrow banded rings that can be worn in groups on the same finger to create a group of beautiful rings.  Stacking rings are very unique and offer the wearer a way to show her personality through jewelry. Choose from a variety of different rings that can be worn alone or together to showcase your own special fashion sense.  Stacking rings can be mixed together in almost any variation imaginable.

Choices for Diamond Stacking Rings

There are many different choices to pick from when choosing stacking rings from the downtown LA jewelry district. You may opt to stack two or more rings with the most popular choice being three stacking rings.  The rings look best when they have a similar look to them.  However, you may choose to stack both silver and gold rings together if you like.  Diamond stacking rings may have small diamonds around the entire ring or may have one solitaire diamond.  Choose from traditional white diamonds or pick a colored diamond such as pink or chocolate.  These rings offer an interesting way to wear your jewelry since you can wear each ring alone or wear them together.  You may also opt to stack them with other styles of rings.

Tell Your Story with Stacking Rings

You may want to use diamond stacking rings to tell your own unique story.  Use each stacking ring to symbolize a person in your life.  For example, wear a stacking ring for each of your children.  Stacking rings are also a great way to add to your jewelry collection.  Purchase a new stacking ring for an anniversary or birthday.  Switch off wearing different stacking rings together to create a custom look every time.  You may choose to wear stacking rings on any finger you like – though they are most typically worn on the right hand.  Stacking rings make great gifts for graduation, birthdays, and other important life events.  The downtown LA jewelry district offers a wide variety of stackable ring options to choose from. You can let your personality shine by choosing stacking rings that you like the best.

Diamond Stacking Rings are Fun and Flirty

Stacking rings are typically narrow bands that come in different types of gold including white gold, yellow gold, and pink gold.  You can wear one ring alone for a dainty look or add more rings to the stack to make a beautiful arrangement.  The rings are high quality and will last a lifetime.  Each ring may contain diamonds that equal about a quarter carat weight.  Stacking rings make great gifts for others or as a gift to yourself.  Wear one or several to match your mood or your fashion.  Purchase several rings from the downtown LA jewelry district to add to your stacking ring collection.

Shopping Downtown Los Angeles Jewelry Stores for Men’s Jewelry

It is not just women who can benefit from shopping in Downtown Los Angeles jewelry stores. Beyond wedding bands, the trend of men wearing various types of jewelry has become more popular. Some may think that the best way to find a wide variety and good deals for men’s jewelry is to go online. Those in the know, however, venture into the LA Diamond District.

Men’s Options in the LA Diamond District

The LA Diamond District is more than just thousands of loose stones and engagement ring settings. If you are looking for a stunning piece of  jewelry for the important man in your life, you will have more than enough options in the dozens of stores packed into three city blocks of downtown LA. The density of stores in this one sparkling region of the city means that they are in constant competition to offer better variety and steeper discounts to entice shoppers.

Despite its name, the LA Diamond District offers far more than the coveted gems. In Downtown Los Angeles jewelry stores, you will find options sure to fit the tastes of any many in your life. To get the most out of your shopping adventure through the district you should first do a little bit of research. Knowing the tastes of the recipient will help ensure that the item you choose will be prized.

What To Buy Your Man

Though you may immediately think of gold, silver, or even platinum as the metals of choice for jewelry, another precious metal has burst onto the jewelry scene and become extremely popular among men.  Tungsten is a very hard and durable metal that makes a bold statement. It can have a shiny silver appearance, or be brushed. Some Tungsten is even black, which is used both as an accent and the primary metal in a piece. Tungsten wedding bands are gaining in popularity as compared to gold, which is softer, less durable and more expensive. The appearance of Tungsten is considered by many to be highly masculine and non-traditional.

You can find a variety of Tungsten pieces in Downtown Los Angeles jewelry stores. When selecting a Tungsten ring, however, be careful to know the exact size that the man will need. Unlike those made of other metals, Tungsten rings cannot be re-sized.

LA Diamonds for Men

If you are venturing into the LA Diamond District for a piece of men’s jewelry featuring diamonds, you are still very much in luck. The district does not just cater to engagement rings or women’s fashions. Rather, the experts in the stores will be happy to help you select a diamond that is perfect for that special man in your life. Whether it is a gem-studded wedding band, and anniversary ring, or just a beautiful piece for a man with an appreciation for the finer things in life, you will have plenty of choices and the advice to ensure you will choose just the right one. One part of this decision is the type of diamond.

While white diamonds are a perennial favorite among jewelry-lovers, men tend to lean toward colored stones. Diamonds come in a spectrum of colors including rich blues, reds, and even black (which are not actually black, but other colors with a high level of dark inclusions). These colors make stunning men’s jewelry and can be fit into everything from rings to pendants.

Picking the Perfect Engagement Ring in the LA Diamond District

An engagement ring, besides a wedding band, is the most important piece of jewelry you will ever purchase. Selecting the perfect ring is the beginning of creating a lifetime of beautiful memories with your future spouse, so you want to be sure that you choose the one that will make her eyes sparkle even more than the diamond. If a dazzling engagement ring is on the top of your shopping list, the LA Diamond District should be your destination of choice.

What The LA Diamond District Has to Offer

The LA Diamond District is a densely-packed area of jewelry stores that offer a huge array of loose diamonds, settings, already-made rings, and other pieces. It can be overwhelming to walk along the sidewalk glancing in at the displays of glittering stones and bands. To make sure that you are prepared when you walk into a Downtown Los Angeles jewelry store, you should do a little research.

An engagement ring is as personal as the woman whose finger it will grace. You wouldn’t want to choose a ring that she would look at every day and think, “Who was he thinking of when he picked this out?” Preventing this from happening is as easy as doing your diamond homework.

You might have an image in your mind of what a diamond engagement ring looks like, but in reality, not just the settings, but the stones come in an astonishing variety of shapes, sizes, even colors. Choosing the perfect engagement ring is about figuring out which best fits that woman who captured your heart.

What You Need To Know Before Walking into a Downtown Los Angeles Jewelry Store

The first thing you will need to know when you walk into a Downtown Los Angeles jewelry store is whether you want to purchase an already-crafted engagement ring, or if you want to choose the setting and then a loose diamond. It is much more personal to know that you chose the actual stone in your engagement ring, but if you don’t know much about diamonds and don’t want to make such a big decision, there will be options that are already fully made.

In either instance, you will also need some vague idea of what shape diamond your future fiancée would like. Some women dream of a traditional round brilliant cut diamond, while others would adore something more unusual such as an ascher or emerald cut. If the engagement ring will be a surprise, it may be more difficult to discern what shape she would like, but you can get some idea by looking at the other jewelry that she wears. The experts at the jewelry store can take details about her and help you to translate them into the ideal diamond shape.

Another consideration when choosing your engagement ring is the color and size of the diamond you want. Most engagement rings feature a white diamond, but special colored stones  that come in a rainbow of shades from yellow to blue have gained popularity recently as engagement rings have started showing more personality. This is another detail that will require some insight into your partner. If you are unsure, a white diamond is usually the safest route. When thinking about the size of diamond, bigger is not always better. The size of her hands will determine how large and beautiful a diamond will look.

Call Icing On The Ring For Help Picking Out the Perfect Ring

Perusing the LA Diamond District for the perfect engagement ring is an exciting, but sometimes scary, adventure. With a little bit of preparation you can be assured that the ring you choose will be her most prized piece of jewelry for the rest of her life. Visit family owned and operated Icing On The Ring to make sure you get it right the first time.

Buying Downtown Los Angeles Jewelry: A Simple Guide

A diamonds is a rare and phenomenal purchase that can fulfill many wants and needs. While diamonds are traditionally bought in the form of engagement rings or other new jewelry, the LA Diamond District also offers loose diamonds that can be purchased as a stable investment, or to refurbish heirloom jewelry. Regardless of your intention, buying Downtown Los Angeles jewelry can be an overwhelming prospect. Before you walk into one of the stores and start arbitrarily pointing at selections, you should know the basics behind choosing the perfect diamond.

The Four C’s of Downtown Los Angeles Jewelry

You thought that you finished your letter-centric education with the Three R’s, didn’t you? Well, if you are considering an important diamond purchase, you must learn the Four C’s. These four C’s really apply to the purchase of any diamond, but with the breathtaking variety of jewelry and stones available in jewelry stores in Los Angeles they will be particularly helpful.

Cut—This refers to the shape of the diamond after it has been cut, the positioning of its facets, its angles and its relative proportion. All of these factors impact the overall appearance of the diamond, including its all-important brilliance. The cut of the diamond is evaluated on seven different characteristics, including diameter, girdle, and depth. Each of these characteristics plays off of the others to create the visual appeal of the diamond. The expertise of the craftsman cutting the diamond is crucial, as a poorly-executed cut can destroy the brilliance, beauty, and value of a stone.

Color—Many people are under the impression that diamonds are colorless, or at least white. Though the majority of stones seen in the commercial marketplace are on the colorless to white color scale, diamonds actually have the rare distinction of existing in a full range of colors. The color scales used to grade diamonds in stores covers colorless diamonds to stones that are very light yellow. Other colors, including such dramatic saturations as red, blue, and brown, are deemed “fancy colors” and are not included on the grading scales. Diamonds on the lower end of the spectrum are generally deemed the most desirable.

Clarity—Diamonds take millions of years to form in nature, which means they generally feature small amounts of other materials. These are referred to as “inclusions”, and they greatly impact the appearance and value of diamonds. Inclusions can range from the barely-perceptible to so prevalent that they actually change the color classification of the stone, as is the case with so-called black diamonds. A stone that has no inclusions is exceptionally rare. Rather, diamonds are graded on their clarity in terms of the number of inclusions, what exactly they are, how large they are, and where they are within the cut stone. Often these inclusions are so minute they cannot be detected by an untrained, or unaided eye. This makes it possible to purchase a visually stunning, high-graded stone without it having to be flawless.

Carat—Perhaps the most recognizable of the C’s, the carat is the unit of weight measurement applied to diamonds. A carat is .2 grams, and is internationally recognized as the acceptable means of determining a diamond’s size and weight. As not all diamonds are a full carats in size, partial carats are referred to in terms of “points”, though most people use fractions rather than the point system.  Generally, the price of the diamond will increase with the carat. However, the other C’s of clarity and color are more important that size when determining value and rarity.

Jewelry stores in Los Angeles carry a tremendous array of diamonds from the dainty to the astonishing. The experts can help you to select the cut, color, clarity, and carat of diamond that ideally fits your needs. Going in with an awareness of what each of those means will help you to be a more active participant in your diamond selection—and will ensure that you truly get exactly what you want.

Getting to Know Her Best Friend: Browsing the LA Diamond District

Diamonds are one of those rare items that are universally coveted and yet still cling to their mystery and intrigue. Purchasing a diamond is at once an exhilarating, exciting experience, and a complicated ordeal. If you are interested in diamonds, whether for a uniquely-hers engagement ring, or a special addition to your own collection, the LA Diamond District is the ideal place for you to browse and be amazed. Before you begin perusing the glamorous streets of this area, however, you should brush up on your diamond knowledge. This will not only help you to zero in on the exact type of diamond that will fulfill your most dazzling desires, but it will help you actually get what you want while making the best deals.

Not Los Angeles Jewelry Store Born: Where Do Diamonds Come From?

If you have visions of diamond mines crafted mainly from your childhood days watching animated movies of tiny men marching off to work, you may envision tunnels weaving through mountains, studded with sparkling, perfectly faceted gems. While this would make the work of diamond miners much easier, this is not exactly where the precious gems originate. Before arriving in the LA Diamond District to be coveted, diamonds are nestled deeply in rock far below the ground. They are a mineral that takes literally millions of years to completely form. In their raw state, diamonds are less than visually appealing. It takes the skilled hands of experts to cut and polish the stones into the brilliant gems we recognize. Out of reverence for their incredible strength, these stones were given a name derived from a Greek word meaning “invincible”.

Staying in Shape in the Downtown LA Jewelry District

Though most people have a very clear visual in their minds of what a diamond looks like, the reality is these precious stones come in a wide variety of shapes and colors. White diamonds are the most desired in the commercial market, despite not being the rarest or the most expensive. When you are readying yourself to delve deeply into the downtown LA jewelry district, you should arm yourself with an awareness of the shapes diamonds are cut into, and which are most appealing to you. Though there are many, some of the most popular include:

Round—The round cut is the shape that most people identify with a diamond. It is faceted a tremendous number of times for optimum sparkle.

Princess—This is a much more modern cut of diamond. It is generally a square, but can also be rectangular, and features sharp corners and great depth to intensify brilliance.

Asscher—One of the rarest cuts of diamonds, this is an octagonal shape that fell out of favor during the Great Depression but has recently witnessed a resurgence in popularity due to its uniqueness.

Marquise—This is a very popular cut of diamond, particularly in engagement rings. It is a long shape, with pointed tips and was created in homage to the smile of King Louis XIV’s lover.

Heart—Also not a particularly common shape, the heart cut is a testament to the skill and precision of the diamond cutter, who must be able to craft a shape that is even while maintaining brilliance through facets.

Now that you have some basic understanding of a diamond, you can delve further, preparing yourself even more to walk the brilliant streets of the LA Diamond District.

Glitter In The Los Angeles Jewelry District

In the Los Angeles Jewelry District, there are diamonds that are so rare and large that they are considered priceless—or worth so much most of us can only dream of obtaining such a prize. It might be interesting to note that while most people who shop in the Los Angeles Jewelry District covet the whitest diamonds possible, some of the most valuable diamonds ever found are not white, but blue, pink, and even black.

Not All LA Diamonds Are White

While not all LA diamonds are white, this is by far the most popular color in the district. However, once in a while a diamond of a different color is found, which is considered even more rare and more of a prize than a pure white, grade D diamond. Most people have heard of the Hope Diamond, (perhaps that’s the most famous diamond on the planet), but it is not the diamond that fetches the highest price. That goes to the Koh-I-Nor diamond (that means Mountain of Light), which is a magnificent 105 carat (yes, 105) behemoth that is considered so valuable, no price tag has been put on it. While you can’t buy the gem, you can view it at the Tower of London in the UK. By the way, this gem is white. A 55.5 carat pale yellow diamond known as the Sancy Diamond is believed to be the first diamond symmetrically cut. A pale yellow 1-carat LA diamond would be a lot more affordable.

Does The LA Jewelry District Harbor Some Hidden Wonders?

Maybe, but be careful. While diamond experts agree that pure white diamonds are the rarest gemstones, the most expensive diamonds in history often appear to be blue. Big and blue, that is. The Hope Diamond, for example, is a spectacular 45.52 carat diamond that appears blue to the naked eye, but is actually red when looked at through ultraviolet light. It’s valued at approximately $350 million. Diamonds that are not white, but still considered valuable, have what is deemed “fancy” colors. These are diamonds that are naturally vibrant colors, such as blue, yellow, red, pink or green. Consumers should be careful when shopping for off-colored diamonds because this term is often used loosely and for LA diamonds whose color has been mechanically manipulated.

Are Color LA Diamonds Rated The Same As White Diamonds?

Most reputable jewelry stores in downtown Los Angeles that feature LA diamonds sell diamonds that are rated by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This pertains to colored diamonds, as well as white diamonds. All factors, including the color intensity, cut, clarity, and carat go into pricing a fancy color diamond just as a pure white diamond. You should use the same standards for buying a color diamond as you would a white diamond. Though color diamonds are lovely, they have not reached the same popularity of white diamonds, which may be because they are not immediately recognized as a diamond—which is the most coveted gem. A red diamond, for example, may be lovely, but may often be mistaken for a ruby, which while desirable, is not as desirable as a diamond. For that reason, white diamonds are expected to maintain their popularity among people who love the idea of wearing a gorgeous LA diamond.
